Audit Toolbox Audit Matters
Audit Matters, May 2003
There were 10 of us at the Audit Group meeting in Liverpool during the BPNA conference this year.
- BPNA Audit & Guidelines Toolbox. We had a look at and discussed draft web pages for this, thanks to a lot of flare and hard work by Carlos de Sousa. We expect it to go live as part of the BPNA website this summer. Members will be able to download tools such as data sheets and guidelines; both drafts and endorsed documents will be available to members, and eventually the public. Sorry it is taking longer than originally anticipated!
- Acute Transverse Myelopathy. Members are circulated by post every 4 months, to notify the investigators, in this pilot of a BPNA-SU audit run by Mike Pike and Christian De Goede.

- Dancing Eye Syndrome. Members have been collaborating with Mike Pike in getting local R&D and LREC approval for this MREC approved clinical audit, follow-up and laboratory study.

- Guillaine Barre Syndrome. A web based, evidence linked, draft guideline and audit data sheets 2003 are ready and waiting for the Toolbox to go live, thanks to Deirdre Peake. Richard Appleton has been collaborating with Alder Hey Children's Hospital nurses on a detailed integrated care pathway, which may be ready to pilot this year.
- 1st clinic attendance with suspected epilepsy. Data from Nottingham was presented at the conference and a new data sheet prepared: Albert D, Dunkley C, Williams J, Whitehouse WP.
