Unit 10: Vision & Hearing
Through these sections you will develop an understanding of the principles behind vision and visual disorders, their management and investigation. Then move onto the hearing sections where you will develop an understanding of hearing, its associated disorders and management.
This Unit contains 22.5 hours of study, divided into the following sections:
|1. Basic science: anatomy, embryology of the eye and visual pathways||3 hours|
|2. Epidemiology and cerebral visual impairment||1.5 hours|
|3. Assessment of vision||4.5 hours|
|4. Squint and eye movement disorders||4.5 hours|
|5. Retinal disorders||1.5 hours|
|6. Audiovestibular - anatomy, physiology and embryology||3 hours|
|7. Classification of hearing impairment and epidemiology||1.5 hours|
|8. Assessment and management of audiovestibular problems in children||3 hours|
|Total study hours =||22.5 hours|
You can begin studying this Unit at any time and work through it at your own pace. There are no time limits to finish the Unit. If you spend about 4 hours per week on this course, you will complete it in about 3 months. When you complete the unit, please send it to us and we will check that all 3 star activities have been completed and will issue a CPD certificate for the number of hours shown above.
