Abstracts continue to be published in Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology and are available online.
There will be a 10-minute introduction at the beginning of the conference (Wednesday at 10.50am) to ensure everyone has the app downloaded and is comfortable using it.
An invitation from the BPNA President, Dr Jean-Pierre Lin:
Dear Colleagues
It is an immense pleasure to invite you to the 44th British Paediatric Neurology Association Annual Conference, 3-5 January 2018 in the heart of London, at the Franklin-Wilkins Building, King’ s College London, Waterloo, situated on the Southbank of the river Thames, opposite Somerset House, just behind the Royal Festival Hall and only a few minutes walk away from Waterloo, Blackfriars and Charing Cross stations respectively.
The 2018 BPNA Annual conference will have nine keynote lectures, a Mackeith Prize Lecture, and two Presidential Guest lectures by Dr Laura Cif from Montpellier, France and Professor Laura Silveira-Moriyama from Campinas and Sao Paulo Universities, Brazil. Our invited MacKeith Guest Lecture for 2018 will be Professor Michael Johnstone from John’s Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore USA on the topic of: ‘Developmental Neurobiology, Connectomics and Big Data.’
Clinical Practice Sessions and Workshops
The 2018 Annual Conference aims to bring together practitioners in paediatric Neurology, Neurodisability, Neuropsychiatry and Neuropsychology in a series of 4 parallel workshops each morning focussing on ‘Hot Topics and Controversies’ in Acute Neurology; Psychology and Psychiatry; Neurodisability; Interventional Neurology. Delegates can choose from a choice of three workshops each day of the conference to further their clinical understanding with current clinical practice in a wide range of topics delivered by 2-3 experts and chaired by a Senior Neurologist and co-chaired a Neurologist in Training.
The Scientific Programme
New scientific information will be presented in 16 plenary oral presentations spanning the whole conference and 27 parallel oral presentations each day as well as time-tabled electronic posters.
NB: The BPNA Clinical Research Networks (formerly Special Interest Groups) will meet on the morning of Wednesday 3 January.
The BPNA Annual Conference goes electronic!
A novel approach to the 2018 Annual Conference will be the Conference App, which we hope will be a helpful companion before, during and after the conference. Accepted abstracts, will as usual be published as a supplement of Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology and be accessible with the conference app which will help the BPNA to be environmentally friendly too!
Reception and Annual Conference Dinner
Our Welcome Reception will be in the Great Hall of King’s College London at the Strand Campus, just a few minutes walk across Waterloo Bridge on the evening of Wednesday 3 January. The conference dinner will be held in the magnificent Middle Temple on Thursday 4 January, also just a few minutes walk across Waterloo Bridge.
Looking forward to seeing you in London.
Best wishes
Jean-Pierre Lin
