Apply for Paediatric Neurology GRID

The RCPCH has applied to the GMC to change the current training programme. The current three level programme would be reduced to two levels: ‘core’ (ST1-4) and ‘specialty’ (ST5-7).
This begins in summer of 2023 and therefore, could potentially affect when you apply (see guidance below) - start reaching out to us for help and support early - its never too early! See Recruitment Champions above.
When to apply
Specialist training in paediatrics is a run through programme with 3 levels - Level 1: ST1-3; Level 2: ST4-5; Level 3: ST6-8. From August 2023 onwards, you need to apply for GRID in ST4 to start in ST5. It may be possible to apply in ST5 as long as your ST5 post is in an accredited paediatric neurology training programme.
Application key dates
Applications for a August/September 2024 start will open in October 2023, but it's never too early to get in touch with us or your local recruitment champion.
