BPNA Professional Support 

One of the BPNA's charitable objectives is to provide professional support to its members.  The BPNA does this through:

  • Mentoring for consultant, paediatric neurology and neurodisibility trainee members (in their final 6 months of training). Please log into the members' area and click on Professional Support to request a mentor
  • Professional Support Team (PST).  This team is made up of highly experienced, senior consultant paediatric neurologists and is able to co-opt additional team members as required.  The PST exists to provide advice and support to individuals or teams, including advice on job planning and developing business cases for new posts.   • Clinical Governance.  Contributing to NICE consultations on clinical guidelines and quality standards and NHS England consultations.
  • Supporting special interest groups, which provide an opportunity to discuss anonymised complex cases, research, service developments and collaborative audit:

    • Cerebrovascular
    • Children's Headache Network (CHaN)
    • Fetal & Neonatal
    • Inherited white matter diseases
    • Movement disorders
    • Neuromuscular disorders
    • Rehabilitation
