Dr Ruth Williams

Ruth Williams is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at Evelina London Childrens Hospital. She graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 1985. After working as a Junior Paediatrician in Birmingham, London and Bath, she joined Professor Mark Gardiner’s team at University College London where she studied the molecular genetics of Batten disease. In 1996, Ruth returned to clinical work as a Senior Registrar at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), London, where she completed her post-graduate training in Paediatric Neurology.

Ruth has particular interests in Paediatric Epilepsy and Batten disease. Other interests include the assessment of quality of life in families affected by Batten disease, communication and palliative care in paediatric neurology, and medical ethics.
