A warm welcome from Birmingham:

The last time Birmingham hosted the BPNA Conference was in 2009, and we are delighted to welcome you back to the city in 2027.

Known as the “City of a Thousand Trades” and often referred to as the “Workshop of the World,” Birmingham sits at the heart of England and has long been defined by its industry, innovation, and resilience. From its pivotal role in the Industrial Revolution to its continued evolution as a vibrant, modern metropolis, Birmingham is a city shaped by creativity, hard work, and diversity.

Birmingham holds particular relevance for paediatric neurology, as the youngest city in Europe, with the largest proportion of people under the age of 25—making it a fitting setting for discussions focused on child health and the future of neurological care.

Today, Birmingham thrives as a dynamic and multicultural hub, with its diversity celebrated through its Cultural life, communities, and cuisine- from the Black Sabbath to the Blinders and Balti Triangle. Delegates can look forward to an evening inspired by the “Return of Bollywood,” showcasing the colour, energy, and spirit of the city.

The conference drinks reception will be held in the historic Council House, a landmark of civic pride whose grand architecture reflects Birmingham’s political and industrial heritage, offering an elegant and distinctly local welcome to delegates. The conference dinner will take place in the iconic Library of Birmingham—one of the largest public libraries in Europe—symbolising the city’s commitment to learning, knowledge, and innovation, and providing a striking contemporary setting for an evening of celebration and connection.

With its central location and excellent transport links, Birmingham provides an ideal setting for bringing colleagues together from across the UK and beyond. A wide range of hotels, restaurants, and cultural attractions are all within easy reach of the conference venue.

We look forward to welcoming you to Birmingham in 2027.
