A warm welcome from Edinburgh:

The Edinburgh team welcomes the BPNA back for the first time in 15 years on the 25th to 27th of January 2023. The conference will begin on 25th January, Burn’s Night, which is the annual celebration of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns. Burns encourages us in his most famous song “Auld Lang Syne” to remember old friendships and celebrate new ones. As the first in person annual conference since Belfast in 2020, I’m sure this is sentiment we can all agree with. While we may have developed essential new skills and phrases such as “you’re on mute” and “is someone’s mic on?” we have an opportunity to put much of that to the side and share space, knowledge, wisdom, and cheer. There will of course be opportunities to join us virtually in a hybrid format but as anyone who has experienced a Zoom Disco can tell you, it is impossible to replicate the visceral thrill of a packed dance floor and “enthusiastic” ceilidh!

The meeting we have planned provides opportunities to share the latest research from the diverse areas of child neurology – from lab based basic science to clinical trials and patient experiences. We invite you to contribute to the meeting both through attendance but also with high quality abstract submission. The poster and oral presentations always provide a key insight in to the current art and science of paediatric neurology, so please start preparing your submissions in plenty of time!

We look forward to welcoming you to Auld Reekie, be that in person or virtually!
