A warm welcome from Oxford:
The last BPNA annual conference was held in Oxford in 2021 during the COVID pandemic and fears of lockdown and social isolation. The Oxford team was so excited to welcome you to the BPNA annual conference in person, but the times and circumstances left everyone wanting for the real Oxford experience. We have now been given this wonderful opportunity again to welcome you to the wonderful City of Oxford.
Situated on the River Thames, the town is best known for its University that ranks the best in the world. you can experience the long and fascinating history and growth of Oxford from its Saxon origins to the modern City with its olde world charm. Oxford is generally known as the “City of Spires” because of its skyline of Gothic towers and steeples. Most of these 15th–17th-century buildings belong to the university. The city was the Royalist headquarters in the English Civil Wars. Its modern economy is varied and includes, in addition to educational services, printing and publishing industries and automobile manufacturing with the famous Morris motors. You can easily walk around the old City or take walking tours or enjoy a punt on the Thames. Round every corner is history! Walk into Christ Church Meadows and check out Alice’s sweet shop or enjoy a pint in the pubs frequented by Inspector Morse or the locations in X Men or Harry Potter. Our drinks reception will be in the Divinity School one of the filming locations! As a contrast the conference venue highlights Modern Oxford in its famous Mathematical Institute
The Oxford team and the BPNA Research Committee are looking forward to receiving your submissions and publishing all the great work you have done over the last year. There will be some new and returning features at the next conference including research workshops, annual general meeting, specialist interest groups, etc. There will be some amazing speakers with clinical medicine and science in equal measure.
For those who are unable to join us face to face, we would be delighted to welcome you online, but you may not be able to experience the Magical Spires of Oxford!
