2026 Presenter Instructions

The BPNA 2026 conference will be delivered as a hybrid event on 28-30 January 2026 at the Technology Innovation Centre, 99 George Street, Glasgow, G1 1RD.

Oral Presentations 

A number of abstracts will be selected for oral presentation during the conference. Abstract submitters and presenters will be notified of the selection outcome by 6 October 2025. 

All Oral presenters are expected to attend the in-person conference. Registration deadline is 3 November 2025.

Oral presentations will be allocated 10 minutes for the presentation, followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion (total 15 minutes each).  Chairing will be strict.  


Poster Presentations

A number of posters will be selected for physical display at the conference venue. Abstract submitters and presenters will be notified of the selection outcome by 6 October 2025.

All physical poster presenters are expected to attend the in-person conference for poster viewing sessions to answer any questions. Registration deadline is on 3 November 2025.

Posters must be prepared in portrait orientation, at a maximum size of A0 (841mm x 1,189mm). Posters will remain on display for the duration of the conference, from Wednesday 28 January to Friday 30 January 2026.

A selection of poster presenters will be invited to take part in a poster tour (one tour per day of the conference). If your abstract is selected you will be asked to give a 3-minute presentation of your poster to an audience at your allocated poster board, followed by 2-minutes for questions and discussion (total of 5 minutes per poster). 

You will be required to put your poster up in the required location before the start of the first session - 12.30PM on Wednesday 28 January 2026. 

A poster plan, showing the exact location of each poster, will be available at the conference entrance near the registration desk. Please refer to the board for your poster number, name and presentation date and time. Velcro fixings will be provided on the poster boards. BPNA staff will be available to assist if needed.

All posters must be removed by 4:30 PM on Friday 30 January 2026. Please note that any unclaimed posters will be discarded, as the conference venue does not offer storage facilities, and the space will be reallocated immediately after the event.

PDF Poster Upload (for the conference app)

All posters will be available to view to virtual conference attendees via the conference app. Follow the below instructions to prepare your virtual poster and audio narrative.

Prepare your PDF Poster and Audio Narrative

For Oral and Online Poster Presentations: To allow attendees to view and hear your poster, you will need to upload:
• A PDF version of your poster for easy zooming
• An MP4 audio narrative file to provide your commentary (up to 2 minutes long)

Steps to prepare your poster:

1. Create Your Poster
Design a single-slide poster in PowerPoint with portrait orientation, at a maximum size of (841mm x 1,189mm).

2. Save as PDF
Export your PowerPoint slide as a PDF:
• Go to File > Export > Name your file with your poster number > Select File format: PDF > Export

3. Record Audio Narrative in PowerPoint
Add audio narration to your poster in PowerPoint (up to 2 minutes long):
• Go to Insert > Audio > Record Audio
• Save and verify the recording

4. Export as MP4
Convert your PowerPoint with audio to an MP4 video file:
• Go to File > Export > Save as a Movie. This will output an MP4 file, which is compatible with the conference app.

NOTE: Only MP4 files will play audio in the conference app, and only PDFs are zoomable.


Upload your Poster

NOTE: Only the abstract submitter can upload the poster. Ensure the submitter is registered for the conference before attempting to upload.

Steps to upload your poster:
1.
Log in to your BPNA account: BPNA Login
2.
Go to MY ACCOUNT (top right-hand corner) > ABSTRACTS SUBMITTED
3.
Select UPLOAD PDF POSTER and UPLOAD MP4 FILE

NOTE: It takes up to 24 hours for posters to appear on the conference web app, after uploading them.


To be considered for a prize, please upload your poster by 12 January 2026.

Video Challenge Presentations

A limited number of abstracts will be selected for the 'Video Challenge' event. If your abstract is selected, we will contact you with further details. 

All video challenge presenters need to register for the conference and attend in person. Registration deadline is on 3 November 2025. 

Publication

Abstracts selected for presentation at the BPNA conference will be published in the journal Developmental Medicine and Child Neurology.
