Welcome Reception
Glasgow City Chambers, George Square, G2 1DU
Wednesday 28 January 2026 – 18.30 to 20.00
Join us for a warm Scottish welcome in the magnificent Glasgow City Chambers, one of the city’s most impressive and historic buildings. Opened in 1888, the Chambers are a stunning example of Victorian civic architecture and remain the headquarters of Glasgow City Council.
With its opulent marble staircases, ornate ceilings and grand reception rooms, this venue offers an unforgettable setting for the opening of the 2026 conference. Mingle with fellow delegates, enjoy a welcome drink, and take in the splendour of a building that reflects Glasgow’s proud history and vibrant present.
We gratefully acknowledge the support of the Lord Provost and Glasgow City Council, who are kindly providing Civic Hospitality for the 2026 Conference Welcome Reception. Their generous hosting at Glasgow City Chambers reflects the city's commitment to welcome international visitors and supporting academic and professional exchange.
Dinner is not included on Wednesday evening, giving you the chance to explore the city’s food scene. We recommend booking in advance.
