BY AIR

Glasgow International Airport (GLA) is the nearest airport, situated approximately 10 miles (16 km) from the TIC.

The Glasgow Airport Express (service 500) departs every 15 minutes from the airport to Buchanan Bus Station. From there, it is a 10-minute walk to the TIC. 

A taxi ride from the airport to the TIC typically takes 20-30 minutes. 

BY TRAIN

The closest railway stations are:

  • Glasgow Queen Street Station: Approximately 7-minute walk (0.4 miles) to the TIC.
  • Glasgow Central Station: Approximately 14 minute-walk (0.9 miles) to the TIC.

 

BY ROAD

Discounted parking is available nearby – the 24hr Duke Street Car Park, G4 0UW (0.3 miles) currently offers an all day special rate at £6.00. Simply pay at the car park pay machine before you exit the car park. Electric vehicle charging points are available.

From 1 June 2023, a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) came into force in Glasgow. All vehicles entering the city centre zone area must meet the less-polluting emission standards or face a penalty charge. There are some exemptions. Please visit Glasgow City Council’s webpage for full details.

BY BUS

Buchanan Bus Station is located 0.6 miles from the TIC and serves as Glasgow's main bus terminal, with services from various UK cities and frequent services to Glasgow International Airport.

A direct bus connection to Glasgow International Airport is also available from North Hanover St, outside Queen Street Station, every 15 mins. This is about an 8-minute walk away and the single fare is approx. £10.00. Depending on traffic, the journey time is around 20-30 minutes.
